I had the pleasure of sitting next to Joanne Satterfield and Mary Terrell today. Vice Presidential candidate Russell George gave us a glimpse today of what the 2010-2011 Rotary year would look like under his leadership. Russell has a great sense of humor and a good presence in front of the Club. Though I missed the meeting led by our other candidate Don Marx, I am sure he was just as commanding and funny from the podium. Sergeant-at-Arms Keith Strubhar called us to order today a few minutes after 12:30 pm and had a difficult time getting the group to quiet down. Ken Kimbrough gave us the inspiration for today's lunch, speaking to the importance of giving and receiving and leading us in the Serenity Prayer. Russell led us in Pledge of Allegiance and David Klaus led us from the piano to "American the Beautiful".

Engage. Expand. Elevate. The Library's slogan fits perfectly with our 14th Annual Career Fair. The Fair takes place December 3 at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Public Library (thank you to Elena Tscherny for securing this wonderful site). The fair will run from 9:00 to 11:30 am. Volunteers and presenters should arrive at 8:30 am.
We still need volunteers and presenters to come talk with the students about your careers and the careers listed below. If you are interested in helping, please contact Joan Bristol at jhbris@aol.com.

M
onday through Friday, the dress code in the Club is "business casual." Business casual for men, is defined as creased slacks (no denim), collared shirt (polo/dress shirt) and non-athletic shoes which is acceptable throughout the Clubhouse except in the Taft Dining Room for lunch and dinner, where a jacket is required for men. (Note: A jacket is not required in the Taft during the Memorial Day-Labor Day timeframe!) Comparable attire is required for ladies (no denim).
